Types of Adverbs
- MannerHow? quickly, carefully, well, hard, fast
- FrequencyHow often? always, usually, often, sometimes, never
- DegreeHow much? very, quite, too, enough, extremely
- TimeWhen? now, yesterday, already, soon, recently
Position Rules
- Manner: usually after the verb/object — She drives carefully.
- Frequency: before the main verb, after be — He always arrives late.
- Degree: directly before the adjective/adverb — It's very cold.
- Never between verb and object: ❌ She speaks fluently English
Common Mistakes
- ❌ She sings beautiful → ✅ She sings beautifully
- ❌ He works hardly → ✅ He works hard (no -ly)
- ❌ I usually am tired → ✅ I am usually tired
