Overview

'Used to + infinitive' describes past habits or states that no longer exist. 'Be used to + -ing/noun' means being accustomed to something now. 'Get used to + -ing/noun' describes the process of becoming accustomed. These three structures look similar but have completely different meanings.

Used to + Infinitive

  • Past habit or state — no longer true.
