Overview
Superlative adjectives describe the highest or lowest degree of a quality among three or more things. Short adjectives add -est (the tallest, the fastest). Longer adjectives use most (the most expensive). Irregular: good → the best, bad → the worst. Superlatives are always used with 'the'.
Forming superlatives
- shorttall → the tallest / hot → the hottest
- longinteresting → the most interesting
- ending -yeasy → the easiest / happy → the happiest
- irregulargood → the best / bad → the worst
Using superlatives
- Always use the before the superlative.
- It was the best meal I have ever had.
- She is the most talented student in the class.
- Often used with: ever, in + place, of + group.

- ❌ She is most tall. → ✅ She is the tallest.
- ❌ This is most easiest. → ✅ This is the easiest.
- ❌ He is the goodest. → ✅ He is the best.
